Molly Catherine Turner is a proud Okie who now lives in Brooklyn with her two rascally dogs. She earned her bachelor’s and master’s degree in communication studies from Northeastern State University and received her MFA in Creative Writing with a concentration in Writing for Children and Young Adults from The New School.
Molly has over twenty years of public speaking experience, ranging from theatre and competitive speech and debate to performing at the grand opening of the Tulsa Space Air and Museum. She also taught public speaking at the collegiate level for three years. She has presented nearly 30 times at conferences around the country since 2012 on topics ranging from student activism on college campuses, to performance and self-disclosure, to critical, feminist analyses of Breaking Bad, Luke Cage, Magic Mike, and more.
Molly is a 2006 alumna of the Oklahoma Summer Arts Institute in Creative Writing. In 2009, she published a weekly personal column in The Northeastern, Northeastern State University’s student newspaper. In 2016, Molly co-created the podcast “Swipe Right on Molly and Thomas” which was featured as a new and noteworthy podcast on iTunes. Select episodes are available on Apple Podcasts, Stitcher, and other podcatcher apps. She has been a freelance entertainment journalist since 2019 and has been published widely across the Internet on esteemed pop culture media outlets including The Mary Sue, Lambda Literary, and /Film.
